 Job Opening: Youth & Family Therapist

Position Summary:

The Boys & Girls Club of Souhegan Valley is seeking two NH Licensed Clinical Independent Social Workers (LICSW) or license eligible clinicians to provide youth and family support at the Children’s Resiliency Retreats, which are held on the second Saturday of each month from September through June. The position is for approximately 12 hours per month.


 Selected candidate will work with a passionate team of individuals and mentors who want to improve the lives of children living in challenging circumstances. Primary responsibilities include providing support to children and youth who may have been affected by a loved ones’ substance use disorder and providing linkage to community resources. Additional responsibilities include co-facilitating a supportive education and/or evidence based curriculum used in the program to improve self-concept and behavioral coping skills for youth exposed to adverse childhood experiences.

Requires experience with children, teens and families utilizing a strength based approach, strong work ethic, organization, and time management skills. Knowledge of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE’s) beneficial.


 Duties and Responsibilities:

·         Work with a supportive education team serving children and families affected by substance use disorder

·         Willingness to learn state of the art evidenced based practices

The Executive Director serves as the primary representative of the New Hampshire Mental Health Counselors Association (NHMHCA) and provides support and direction in carrying out the responsibilities listed below.   5. Maintain a working knowledge of significant developments and trends in the field.
  6. Work with committee chairs to maintain timelines to ensure outcomes are met.

In communications, the Executive Director will:

  1. See that the board is kept fully informed on the condition of the organization and all important factors influencing it.
  2. Publicize the activities of the organization, its programs and goals.

  4. Represent the programs and point of view of the organization to agencies, organizations, and the general public.
  5. Jointly, with the board of directors, conduct official correspondence of the organization, and jointly, with designated officers, execute legal documents.


Experience and Qualifications

Excellent oral and written communications skills are required, as is the ability to represent the organization and its interests in a positive and effective manner.  .   The successful candidate will be a self-starter and able to manage his/her time and achieve goals in a timely and cost effective manner and hold an active LCMHC license in the state of New Hampshire. 


This is a part time year round salaried contract position with the potential to grow.  It is anticipated for the current contract year to be an average of 20 hours per month – hours could and likely will vary from month to month, and a pay rate of $550.00 per month ($6600.00 per year).
