About the Presenter


Ruth has worked in the eating disorders field as a therapist for the last 12 years. As the current director of the Cambridge Eating Disorder Center in NH, she is well versed in managing clinician self-care and burnout prevention as well as providing therapy and education to those struggling with eating disorders and their supports. Ruth provides outreach to the community and passionately educates other providers who work with eating disorders. She is an active supporter of ethical and respectful treatment for people of all sizes, genders, and ethnicities.

Workshop Objectives

Participants will:

  • Increase understanding of the ethics of self care
  • Recognize the signs and symptoms of burnout, vicarious trauma, compassion fatigue, and transference.
  • Identify 3 techniques to decrease burnout and compassion fatigue
  • Identify signs of an impaired colleague and the ethical responsibilities that this entails
  • Identify 3 areas of vulnerability in their own practice and how to decrease these vulnerabilities

CE Statement

 

This is a 6 credit CE presentation to all licensed mental health clinicians in New Hampshire. This includes LCMHCs, LICSWs, LPCs, MFTs, and Psychologists.

New Hampshire Mental Health Counselors Association has been approved by NBCC as an Approved Continuing Education Provider, ACEP No. 2067. Programs that do not qualify for NBCC credit are clearly identified. NHMHCA is solely responsible for all aspects of the programs.

For guests wishing to register less than two weeks prior to the event, registration is available on our website, or walk ins are welcome on a first-come-first-serve basis.
