About the Presenter


Bill Corbett is the author of numerous books, including the award-winning book and parent education course, Love, Limits, & Lessons: A Parent's Guide to Raising Cooperative Kids (Cooperative Kids, 2011) and an international keynote speaker on matters of family and children. His various training programs have been recognized by the National Counsel on Family Relations (NCFR).

Some of Bill's many accomplishments include the radio talk show Parent Talk, formerly heard on the Clear Channel network, and the Creating Cooperative Kids public access television show. Bill was invited to deliver the opening keynote at the 2015 national Dutch education conference in Amersfoort, The Netherlands. 

He holds a degree in Clinical Psychology fro the University of Phoenix and is a member of the American Psychological Association (APA) and the North American Society for Adlerian Psychology (NASAP). 

Course Description

Introducing Working With Challenging Youth. This highly entertaining and interactive training is designed to educate professionals on the underlying causes of challenging behavior, and then offers powerful techniques for obtaining greater cooperation from both children and teens. Utilizing demonstrations, video clips, lecture, and exercises, Bill Corbett uses the various adult learning styles to draw his audience in to his unique style of "edu-tainment." He uses clinical data, Adlerian theory, common sense parenting, and humor to keep his audience engaged in a fun and interactive session of professional development they won't soon forget!

Workshop Objectives:

1. To increase understanding of disconnected and discouraged youth.
2. To identify ways to promote safe internet use for youth.
3. To learn at least 3 tools to assist caregivers with challenging youth. 
4. To learn at least 3 strategies to assist clinicians in working with challenging parents.

New Hampshire Mental Health Counselors Association has been approved by NBCC as an Approved Continuing Education Provider, ACEP No. 2067. Programs that do not qualify for NBCC credit are clearly identified. NHMHCA is solely responsible for all aspects of the programs.
